The Ritinjali Annual Lecture - Talk by Dr Pramath Raj Sinha

A talk by Dr Pramath Raj Sinha, Founder of Ashoka University and Founding Dean, ISB Hyderabad was held on 30 January 2016 at the India International Centre as part of the Ritinjali Annual Lecture. Dr Sinha spoke on ‘Nation Building - One student at a time’ and explored the numerous possibilities in which education can be transformed in the country.

We were also delighted to have Shabana Basij-Rasikh, President and Co-Founder of School Of Leadership Afghanistan (SOLA)interact with the audience and share her thoughts and experiences. SOLA is a non-profit dedicated to giving young Afghans access to quality education abroad and jobs back home. During the course of the evening, the audience met 11 girls from SOLA, who were in Delhi for an exchange programme with students from Vasant Valley School, Delhi.

The overarching theme for Ritinjali’s Annual Lecture is Nation Building, which has been especially chosen to facilitate thought and discussion around what the term actually means. Through informed conversations with experts across domains, the Ritinjali Annual Lecture envisages drawing attention to what is essential for our progress as a nation and also, challenge us to reflect on how far we have come and what we are required still to do. The theme of Nation Building also neatly encapsulates a central theme of the work done at Ritinjali, whose vision is to nurture empowered and responsible citizens irrespective of class, caste, gender, religion and disability.
