Ritinjali Utsav

As part of the Arts Integrated Learning Programme in our centres, students are exposed to the arts--theatre, dance, story-telling and fine art--which play a crucial role in illuminating other subjects. The Ritinjali Utsav was conceptualised to exhibit the learning of our students, as also offer them a platform for performance and celebration! Along the way, we also hope to empower not only our students, but also the communities they come from. If elders of a community are not stakeholders in the learning of their children, the support will be feeble and learning ineffective. Indeed, we realise that adults of these communities have not been exposed to creative art events, and by doing so, Ritinjali aims to make the families more aware and supportive of their children's learning and education.

On 31st July, we had the first successful performance of our Utsav at Dalil Ekta, our learning centre in Vasant Kunj. Students performed a medley of items:

  • A skit remake of ‘The Emperor's New Clothes’
  • A dance on the song 'Bum Bum Bole Masti Mein Dole' from Tare Zameen Pe
  • A solo performance by a senior studentA fashion show (as conclusion)

After the performance and a thorough round of applause, Ritinjali distributed juice and biscuits to students and thanked the community for their presence as a great audience!
