Second Chance Residential School - Mahipalpur

In the heart of South Delhi’s Mahipalpur village lies Ritinjali’s Second Chance School—a residential programme for young men aged 18 to 24 from across India. Many of these students have faced disrupted education, migration, poverty, or social exclusion. At Ritinjali, they find a home away from home—a space to rebuild their confidence, complete their education, and take charge of their futures.

The programme is designed as a wholistic, year-long journey. Students pursue formal education through NIOS or other open schooling pathways, while receiving foundational training in spoken English, digital literacy, financial awareness, and mental well-being. Each learning journey is personalised—based on individual aptitude, interests, and background—with regular mentorship, assessments, and exposure to diverse career pathways.

Learning goes beyond textbooks. Students engage in entrepreneurship training, industry apprenticeships, creative expression, and everyday life skills—cooking, managing chores, organising events, and living as part of a shared community. These experiences build resilience, responsibility, and readiness for the real world.

Over the years, many students have gone on to pursue higher education, secure meaningful employment, or launch small businesses—often returning to mentor others or support their communities.

While the programme began as a residential school, it has now expanded to also include day-boarder students from Delhi/NCR—urban youth who attend the same immersive programme during the day and return home in the evenings. Whether residential or day-border, every student at Second Chance School is offered the opportunity to reclaim their path and realise their potential.
