Tailoring & Cutting Programme
Practical skill-building for women
One of Ritinjali’s earliest and most enduring initiatives, the Tailoring & Cutting Programme has empowered hundreds of women with the skills to achieve financial self-reliance. Conducted at our Mahipalpur and Kusumpur Pahadi centres, this NIOS-affiliated programme offers hands-on training in stitching, cutting, embroidery, and basic design techniques using professional-grade sewing equipment.
The course balances practical skill-building with creative expression and an entrepreneurial mindset. Many graduates go on to work in garment units, start home-based businesses, or collaborate on community-based microenterprises.
Over the years, tailoring has not only served as a vocational skill but also as a means of social empowerment—offering women a space for learning, expression, and solidarity. Today, the programme continues to evolve, introducing modules on upcycling, basic fashion design, and marketplace readiness to keep pace with industry trends and sustainable practices.
